This digitally tinted graphirt=e drawing portrays fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg as she began her career in New York with the iconic wrap dress. This Belgian icon married the German Prince Von Furstenberg and her lifestyle reflected that of the New York glitterati. I met her during my career in fashion design and she was kind and thoughtful and always ready to help young designers. She became the Chairwoman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), a position she held from 2006 to 2019. DVF as she was known, was the model for many artists and displayed her portrait by Pop Artist Andy Warhol often in photographs of her. She became an icon.. The list of her achievements is long but it all started with one special dress.
