Description
Watercolor of a Crow Bull Chief Indian warrior. The original photograph is by Edward Curtis, a photographer who devoted a lifetime to recording the great characters of the United States' original inhabitants and their way of life. It was well worth this effort because we have a visual reality reference that underscores how we wish history would have turned out differently. How we wish they could teach us how to build a functional society of a natural, close-to-the-earth concept. Also, they are treasures because they are probably the most ancient race of people on earth, issuing from mysterious, pre-historic times. This alone is enough reason for me to record their treasure in a modern color story. The representation of the warrior's incredible courage is captured in the necklace of bear claws and eagle plumes.
