Description
Watercolor of Native American Chief Blanket of the Sun from the Nez Perce Nation. The original photograph was taken in 1908. The Nez Perce were first discovered during Lewis and Clark discovery expedition. After dangerous travel through the hostile Sioux Nation, the 'Corps of Discovery' encountered the gentle Nez Perce tribe who lived in an accessible area of Idaho. In this magnificent Chief, we are awed by his dignified demeanor in his stately cerremonial dress in beige suede and war bonnet.
