The Spirit of Saving Angels is a painting in oil on canvas celebrating the courage and devotion of the medical heroes in the face of personal endangerment. This Spirit is painted in the form of a Guardian Angel with stretched wings who inspires all by watching over the vulnerable. These Guardian Angels are the medical saviors who bring a supply of healing air that cuts through the turbulence all are threatened by. Painted in cobalt blue and white, only the faces of the heroes highlight the painting.
This watercolor painting is dedicated to the medical profession around the world whose unconditional commitment brings hope to humanity during suffering, in a war against a powerful but invisible enemy. This painting witnesses the medical profession’s SPIRIT of self-sacrifice, true love, and essential expertise. The world now knows who our Guardian Angels are.
Though I did not interpret the alarm and anguish people felt as they struggled to stay out of harm’s way in isolation, as an artist I see beyond the suffering to the higher meaning of their pain in a constructive, hopeful message that points to the new true heroes of the 21st Century and to a trusting lifestyle.
The example of the medical professions sets the SPIRIT of the new century for a worthy global modus vivendi. Their humanitarian message reverberates. It stimulates commitment to human solidarity in a renewed focus on higher human values, above politics and nationality, that unifies mankind for a better future.
This painting, made during the height of the Corona virus’ turbulent stages, reflects the steadfast and exemplary courage that daily intimate care demands that assess, informs, and improves our well-being selflessly. Unlike during past centuries, we are not left to confront a monster alone.
