Title
Watercolor of Native American Chief Red Pipe in a War Bonnet
Artist
Greta Corens
Medium
Painting - Watercolor
Description
A contemporary, colorful, and realistic watercolor portrait of a Native American Indian chief dressed in full regalia of the war bonnet. Based on a monotone photograph by Edward Sheriff Curtis circa 1900. He is dressed in a dotted blue top enhanced with an emerald green blanket in silk that he proudly envelops while precious ermine straps descend from his shoulders and sleeves. Either a talisman or a medal adorns the black strap around his neck. These are the spoils of Indian raids mixed in with Indian conquests over nature.
