Title
Watercolor of Tall Bearded Iris in Yellow and Maroon I call Iris Beethoven
Artist
Greta Corens
Medium
Painting - Watercolor
Description
This watercolor painting of a tall bearded yellow and maroon Iris celebrates the refinement of light versus dark contrast in color juxtaposition. The flower was created by a cultivator named Lynda Miller in 1995 who called it unceremoniously 'Just Do It". The maroon depth of its bottom petal color accentuates the delicate finesse of its orange-yellow crown. Irises are regal and a wonder of nature, and inspire glory and romance all at once. Easy to understand why their utterly refined seduction equates to the Beethoven's "Romance in Fa major'. I hope it does in your mind as well.

Greta ,I am back to gaze in your garden. These are the majority of Irises I have. A friend mailed me some bulbs and they haven't come out- Bad weather. My husband buys me a lot of flowers, but the Organza of Orchids is from a botanical garden! Your Irises are great. Marsha FV
